MACLEAY ST BISTRO
Since the early eighties Macleays St Bistro has epitomised the finest local cuisine in the Eastern Suburbs. Current owner Carol Becka took over in 1995. Unassuming and with a dedicated small team in the kitchen and a vibrant knowledgeable floor staff, the bistro continues to offer classic French cuisine whilst engaging modern contemporary Australian dishes. Daily specials including classics such as steak tartare, double baked chease soufflé are juxtaposed with modern fare such as smoked eel pate and seared bing fish with fennel and citrus salad. Once a strictly BYO restaurant, the bistro now offers as well a tight but intriguing wine list featuring local and international wines – 14 by the glass- as well as a selection of boutique beers.
