MOKU

After spending years fawning over the smart creations of Kiwi fashion veterans such as Karen Walker and Kate Sylvester, we’re ready for a fresh crop of sartorial talent from our Antipodean cousin.
MOKU, opposite the Paddington Town Hall on Oxford St, offers just that. A selection of about 20 New Zealand labels – mostly emerging – fits neatly into a cosy, elegant boutique on the ground floor of an old Federation terrace.
Shoes come in the form of Kathryn Wilson, a hit at New Zealand Fashion Week two years ago, whose latest collection includes gorgeous patent loafers and jazz flats.
Richard Moore’s luscious knitwear, with its simple lines and muted colours, sits alongside Hailwood’s casual cotton frocks and Cherry Cotton Candy’s neon bright streetwear.
Check out cool denim from Workshop and MAW’s frilly tops and bloomers and a stunning range of leather and suede handbags from Saben.
