Aurelio Costarella Concept Store
The Essence: The current collection of Aurelio Costarella’s eponymous label showcased against an industrial backdrop in the gloriously restored Newspaper House.
The Facts: Aurelio Costarella has a knack for cool glamour. His Post Emporium boutique mixes decadent candles, French porcelain and quirky objects d’art with his exquisite beaded gowns, tailored suits, leather jackets and swathes of silk and feathers, behind the walls of an old post office in the back streets of North Perth. For his new eponymous boutique in the recently restored Newspaper House, the designer has paid homage to the building’s heritage, creating an industrial backdrop for his sublime creations. Bundles of newspapers are piled high on the concrete floor, with industrial racks showcasing the designer’s latest collection, among decorative pieces of antique furniture, rugs and paintings.
The Finds: Beaded gowns, feather vests, tailored suits.
