What: Sabbia Gallery presents the inaugral Ceramics Masters Exhibition - Narratives : Installation + Sculptural Based Ceramics in Australia. This dynamic group exhibition presents new work by Australia's finest contemporary ceramic artists working the fields of installation and sculpture, each exploring themes of domesticity, nature and the object. Featuring the work of Julie Bartholomew, Janet DeBoos, Honor Freeman, Patsy Hely, Ruth McMillan + Angela Valamanesh.

"Outside, Over There" Solo Exhibition by Beci Orpin (Princess Tina)

What: Melbourne artist Beci Orpin is the heart and soul of the fashion label Princess Tina. Anthropomorphised mushrooms dance on the backs of unicorns. Cute lil teeth cry. Folk art motifs sprinkle the landscape. Foxes roam at night. And decoration rules the school.

Her new exhibition at Outre Gallery is a spin with lots of deliciously homely themes with a twist. Its cosy but also spiked with darkness and nightmares. The unexpected mixed with fairytales.

What: Following the runaway success of their first Australian show at Metalab in 2007, Jason Tweedie, Rhys Hall and Jamie Fergus of the Coast-garde collective return to Sydney in September 2008 to present their latest works, highlighting the diverse and exciting approaches they bring to the ancient art of stone-working.

What: Japan is many different things to different people. Meeting with Japan is a collection of images from Ernest Fratczak's recent sojourn to Japan, capturing his journey through the diversity and complexity of Japanese culture. His photographs appeal to a wide audience, through striking compositions of people and place.
Fratczak captures the diverse essence of Japan today, a culture rich in tradition, modernised through contemporary architecture and consumerism. His photographs juxtapose contemporary streetscapes, architecture and consumer culture with traditional Japan.
