New Guide For Sydney's Bondi & Eastern Beaches
Following the recent launch of Urban Walkabout guides in Melbourne, we are today proud to announce the launch of a brand new Urban Walkabout guide for Sydney's Bondi & Eastern Beaches. Tonight will mark the launch of the guide with celebrations taking place at misschu's Bondi Tuckshop.
Nahji Chu, creator and owner of misschu says, "Urban Walkabout's intelligent coverage of the food scene is super important to businesses like mine and I thank them for encouraging locals and international travellers alike to my tuck-shop windows. Thanks to Urban Walkabout, Misschu went from best-kept secret to best-known brand in a very short amount of time."
Best known as "the queen of the rice paper roll" Nahji Chu isn't chicken when it comes to re-inventing food style. In 2005 Nahji established the misschu catering business in Sydney, supplying venues and events with her sublime Vietnamese-inspired canapés and following that opened her first misschu tuckshop in Darlinghurst, an eatery in Melbourne and Bondi Beach and most recently in Sydney's CBD.
The Urban Walkabout Bondi & Eastern Beaches guide was born from a demand from local business owners, who sought a guide for their area that met the needs of professional, urban explorers and travellers interested in seeking out great quality food, fashion and lifestyle destinations. The first edition will feature businesses in Bondi Beach, Bronte, Waverley, Clovelly, Randwick, Coogee and Maroubra exhibiting Urban Walkabout's well known curatorial style and showcasing fashion, boutiques hotels, galleries, cafes and restaurants.
Local hotel owners Mercedes Mariano and Terry Bunton from the Dive Hotel say, "Coogee has been crying out for an Urban Walkabout guide for yonks. With its simple design and clean photography, it should go gangbusters and we wish we had thought of it."
"A local presence and feeling like part of the community is extremely important to small businesses. The Urban Walkabout guide offers this to Zayira and also showcases what we have to offer to non-locals... a way to navigate a new area and experience its unique culture, from food to fashion and the arts," says Anita Kostovski of Zayira in Bondi.
The Bondi & Eastern Beaches guide joins the already large suite of Urban Walkabout guides for Sydney covering Redfern/Waterloo/Chippendale, Surry Hills, Potts Point/Darlinghurst, Balmain/Rozelle, The Rocks, Lower North Shore, Paddington/Woollahra, and Newtown/Erskineville in addition to specialist publications Sydney Style Seekers and Slices of Sydney.
Established in 2006, Urban Walkabout publishes this series of pocket sized, free, urban lifestyle guides of popular suburbs across Australian cities, including Sydney, Perth and Melbourne as well as the website, urbanwalkabout.com.
