Urban Walkabout via the Layar Augmented Reality App
The Urban Walkabout Augmented Reality experience can be viewed through the Layar iPhone Application. This can be downloaded for the iPhone 3GS via the App Store or for Android via the Market.
Augmented reality (AR) uses the GPS and compass in modern smartphones, such as the iPhone 3GS, to determine where you are and the direction you are facing. It then presents relevant information on the screen about what is right in front of you, overlaid on the image from the phone's camera, overlaying additional information and images on what is visible to the naked eye. Layar is a free application.
Once you have installed the Layar application, simply open it and find the Urban Walkabout layar within 'Local'.
